FRENCH BLUES ALL STARS
French Blues All Stars, no less! Even if the choice of this name seems audacious, it's not misplaced!
The six friends are intimately familiar with the French blues scene, having traveled it in every possible configuration: within groups, in the shadow of charismatic leaders, or under their own banners.
And in every context: on major festival stages or in the most hidden dives. In all circumstances, they have demonstrated unwavering loyalty to this music born at the turn of the 20th century in the southern United States among an oppressed minority. This communal blues with its cathartic power resonates so strongly that it knows no boundaries. As proof, our French Blues All Stars, ten years after a remarkable first live album, returns with this new opus, in a nearly identical configuration. On guitar, Stan Noubard-Pacha learned his trade with Benoit Blue Boy's Tortilleurs – the godfather of French blues. A school of excellence also attended by bassist Thibaut Chopin. Master harmonica player Youssef Remadna toured the bistros and café-concerts of France and Navarre, before establishing himself as one of the most seductive voices on the circuit. For thirty years, Antony Stelmaszack's guitar has distinguished itself alongside a multitude of French and American artists, and is the perfect counterpoint to that of Stan Noubard-Pacha. Newcomer to the band, Benoit Ribière brings the warmth of his keyboards, piano and Hammond organ. Finally, the vital, elegant and swinging beat of Simon "Shuffle" Boyer is not for nothing in the cohesion of this group that he had the idea of uniting. Composed mainly of original compositions, this new album marks a milestone and confirms the place of the French Blues All Stars among the very best groups of the genre.
